Loading .Inp Chat Window Input Files

Note: The .inp files MUST be in the <CTP>\ctp_program\ctp directory.

Start a new, random game with a map of the same size as this file and the number of Civs you wish to play with. Open the Cheat Menu, select Show Map, select Terrain, select Clear Terrain, wait about a minute for all Civs to finish clearing off, hit ' (apostrophe), this opens the Chat Window, click in the Chat Window input line, type /importmap mapname, ie., /importmap Wld1-70x140R.inp, wait 30 seconds, select Hide Map, select Reset LOS, select Show Map, you are now ready to finish the map in whatever way you choose. As a minimum, you must set the Start Locations for the number of Civs you have chosen. See Setting Start Location in 'Other' instructions. Then save as a Regular Map or Scenario Map.

Loading .Sav Map Files

Note: Make a directory called Maps in <CTP>\ctp_program\ctp\save\games and put all .sav files there.

Start CTP, select New Game, select Load Saved Game, select the Maps directory, select the map you want to work with. You are now ready to finish the map in whtever way you choose. As a minimum, you must set the Start Locations for the number of Civs you have chosen. See Setting Start Locations in 'Other' instructions. Then save as a Regular Map or Scenario map.
