TheThirdJesus as graciously supplied the following information for MAC users.

Before unzipping the map files, MAC users should do the following:
1) Open the File Exchange Control Panel
2) Create a New File Mapping
3) Enter the following for it:
Extension: sav
Application: Civilization-Call To Power
File Type: CTPg
4) Unzip the files and follow the directions for loading a .sav game.

StuffIt and ZipIt were used to uncompress the zipped files.
No patches had been applied but they are recommended.
